Isolation

“Come Together / Fall Apart” series

These pieces are part of a larger series about how unexamined ideas and beliefs are used to understand, expand and reconcile - or to disdain, confine and estrange.

Each of us has the ability to touch another and expand – or contract – our thinking and our understanding, and these pieces explore how ideas migrate and are assimilated – often simply by proximity and exposure – and how being exposed to different perceptions can – eventually – change world-views.

Encaustic stenciling is colored with alcohol inks – which flow past the cracks and through the lines – sometimes meeting obstacles and redirecting their journey – but eventually all elements have been touched to some degree by this flow.
